GRASSLANDS
SHEEP GRAZED PERMANENT GRASSLAND
Sheep-grazed permanent grassland predominates in the western part of the parish and is mainly very short grass, often rich in moles, with stoat and weasel and small mammals including field voles, and also supporting wintering birds such as redwing and fieldfare. RUSHY GRASSLAND
Rushy grassland grows over damp clayey soils. This field in the west of the village is over seasonally waterlogged Gault Clay and has been much disturbed by former clay workings for the long gone Stroud Brick and Tile works
