The End of the Beginning?
We are very excited to announce that the Village Hall build is now complete, the legal paperwork is being finalised and all being well the handover date is set for the beginning of December……..what a fantastic Christmas present!
Thank you all for being so patient, we can’t wait to show you around and we will be looking at ways we can welcome you at the Hall whilst keeping safe and fitting within the restrictions and government guidelines when the lockdown ends.
We are looking forward to this website becoming a well-loved and well used resource for Stroud and an integral part of your life; a must read already is Ron Allen’s Wildlife Blog which is a regular feature.
We are going to be adding some village history to the site –places, people and such –and would love to include some of your photographs and memories on the website. Maybe if you have photos of the Revels, the old Village Hall or the village and residents please forward them to myself at [email protected] or drop them in at the Village Hall once we are open.
The postal address for the Village Hall will be
Stroud Village Hall
Stroudfields
Ramsdean Road
Stroud
GU32 3FS
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank those of you that have already supported us by purchasing tickets for the East Hampshire Community Lottery. Thank you!
East Hampshire Community Lottery is an exciting weekly lottery that raises money for good causes in the East Hampshire District. There is a weekly draw with cash prizes up to £25,000, the tickets are £1 each with 50p of the ticket price going directly to support SVHARA if you buy them via our dedicated page, so for your chance to win and support the Hall please purchase your tickets here.
Finally I would be interested to hear your views on a mobile shop visiting the village. I have been in contact with a great little enterprise which offers plastic free organic foods, eco toiletries and household products so you can stock up on your daily essentials and also do your bit for the environment. Please do let me know if this is something you would use or consider an asset to the village.
Stay well, stay safe and hope to meet you all soon at the Village Hall –
Jo Sweet
